The Sexual Revolution was amazing. We spoke on so many different subjects and grew in knowledge and understanding of God and his perfect design.
Our first speaker on October 2nd was Annie Lobert from Hookers for Jesus. Annie shared her testimony, she talked about her life as an escort for 16 years and how God grabbed a hold of her heart and her life a few years ago.
it was such an honor to listen to all that the Lord delivered her from and how He protected her all through the years. But more importantly it was exciting to see how He is using her now. The City at Birney Elementary was an absolute success. We had a lot of new youth/young adults join us at our new location on Saturday September 18th. We played games, people sang, won prizes and then we gave away a bike.
Pastor Ben shared an outstanding message on sex and purity, and then we got to experience him flirting with his wife for a little there (see the pictures above).
If you are between the ages of 12-22 and you have not come to The City you must join us for ur October meeting on the 15th at 7pm. You might be embarassed, you might laugh so hard your stomach hurts terribly, but you will definitely have an awesome Saturday night. Be there!
It was the first time we had ever had either one of those events at Birney Elementary and we were excited to see how they would work out at the new location. Everything worked out great, it was an exciting time for our church as we saw people not only get blessed with a free meal and all kinds of goods, but also as we saw people getting plugged in as they signed up for one of the 14 community groups we launched.
We are looking forward to hearing about the praise reports from all the Community Group leaders and to seeing First Sunday keep on growing in the new community that is surrounding the church. Our next First Sunday will be on November 6th, if you have yet to attend one make sure to mark your calendars, this is one event you do not want to miss.
We had our first "The City" last Thursday June 23rd. "The City"is our youth & young adult gathering (ages 12-22) and with 89 young people that joined us we launched this exciting ministry.
We had an opportunity to worship to music from 3 different bands, we played minute to win it games, had great prizes, giveaways and a short relevant message that was both challenging and encouraging.
We will have a gathering every month for the entire summer so keep checking in so you don't miss the next one.
