Church Planting

We believe that the number one vehicle God is using to transform culture today is the local church. It is because of this belief that we strive to help plant local churches all over the world. To bring this cause about we will not only train and send people out but we have also partnered with Association of Related Churches in which hundreds of churches are being planted every year. We believe in this cause so much that 10% of our annual budget goes to planting churches.

The Bridge

Urban strives to make a difference in the lives of under privileged children and families through giving them the resources they need to live a healthy life and the training they need to make a positive change for themselves. The Bridge is our community outreach ministry in which we do that.

Our goal is to provide a bridge between the church and the community. We believe the church has been called to be the change the world needs. This is why we strive to see both physical and spiritual needs met, while modeling true church community through our love for God and one another.

The Bridge has several different programs through which we make an attempt to reach our immediate community:

First Sunday

The First Sunday of every other month we provide free clothing, household items, furniture and food to those in need in our church and community. It takes a dedicated team of people to pull it off, but the results are worth it as we continue to watch people get blessed! We have partnered with the community and receive donations not only from the members of Urban but also from different businesses. This has made First Sunday one of the most exciting times of the month.

Space Makeovers

We will be undertaking Space Makeovers periodically for those in need in our church or community. In the past Urban has done makeovers for the spaces of two single mothers who had little-to-no furniture, please watch the video below for a peak in on this exciting ministry.

Block Parties

At Urban we believe in community, that is why we have block parties. It is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, have fun, enjoy a free meal and understand your communities needs. Block Parties happen all over San Diego throughout the summer.

Sonshine Hacienda

Sonshine Hacienda is an orphanage located in San Felipe, Mexico. We believe so strongly in this cause that we will begin supporting them with long term and short term missionaries as well as financial aid through supporting missionaries on a monthly basis as well as helping purchase the supplies they need to bring maximum impact in ministering to orphans.

Missions Trips

Urban will also be involved in other strategic local and international missions trips as the Lord leads us. To find out more information regarding these trips please visit the website often.

At Urban we believe in local and global missions. Our global missions happen through partnering with local churches in other nations and supporting them with finances and mission teams. Both the teams and the finances go to support and strengthen the vision and mission of those local churches.

These mission trips include mission’s outreach, bible camps for kids, preaching and establishing new churches in unreached areas.
