School of Ministry
Urban School of Ministry is a dynamic 9-month discipleship program designed for those who want to learn more about God, His Church, their gifts and how their gifts and dreams fit into God’s plan.

Full Time and Part Time Students
Classes
Urban School of Ministry will offer a variety of college credited classes that will equip the      students in different areas including; biblical training, leadership, practical ministry and      relevant life approach. We will offer 5 classes for the full time Students and 3 classes for Part Time Students.

Practical time
Students enrolled in USM have the opportunity of serving in different areas of ministry. We have learned that even though classes are important, they will always be more effective when paired with hands on training. That is why students are intimately involved in all areas of ministry. It is during practical time that the students are able to put their gifts at work discovering not only where God wants to use those gifts but also where their passions lie.

Trips
Ministry trips are a great complement to the classes and the practical time. During our 2 ministry trips the students will have an opportunity to learn the importance of teamwork and the ins and outs of missionary work. They will also see their spiritual gifts  working in a new way as they serve in different places under different conditions. The trips are only included on the Full Time Students tuiton. Part Time students have the option of joining us on the trips at the rate being charged to the rest of the church

Personal time with mentors
We know the importance of having a mentor in people’s lives. That is why the full time and part time students will meet with a mentor once a month. The mentor will discuss with students not only their personal walk with God in term of  spirituality, but also finances, lifestyle, health and purity. It will be a time of accountability and planning for the future.

Per Class Students

At the Urban School of Ministry we understand people are in different seasons of life. That is why we have created a place for those who would like to enroll in USM but don’t have the   ability to be full time or part time students.

Per class students is tailored for those who are only available to take one class. They join the full time and part time students on the days the class is being taught. Their involvement is limited and is perfect for those who are in      seasons of life where there is not much time but there is a desire to know more about the Bible and grow closer in a relationship with God.

Per class students pay $175 per credit and their tuiton covers textbooks, class instructions and materials. Per class student’s tuiton also covers creditation costs with Portland Bible College. Per class students could also choose to audit the class and not get credit but still glean from the content, then the cost is $80 for each class.
